London: J. Carpenter and Son, 1818. One of the more uncommon titles by the "national poet" of Ireland, Thomas Moore ( 1779-1852), first published under a pseudonym in 1813; subsequently republished several times with different additions. This is a Very Good copy of the Sixteenth Edition, with "A New Preface, ans Several Additional Poems." Paper-covered boards with a linen spine, with the title "Two-Penny Post Bag" on the spine (rubbed and cracked but still readable). Clean text; 119 pages, very bright. The covers are rubbed rather well, with some chipping to the spine. Tiny seller's label on rear paste-down; previous-owner signature, which looks to be contemporary, on the front paste-down; "Thos Moore" is penciled in the same hand to the Title Page. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. First Thus. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. First Edition.
