New York: International Book Company, 1886. Ned Buntline, the pseudonym of Edward Zane Carroll Judson (1822?-1886), whose dime novel "biographies" made the reputations of several American frontiersmen. He had his own fascinating life, including a duel and time spent in prison for instigating an anti-immigrant riot. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition. Purple cloth binding, with a fancy blindstamped floral design; gilt lettering on the spine. There is no publication date, but WorldCat reports 1886, the same year as Ogilvie's softbound printing, and Quercus follows their lead. VERY SCARCE; less common than Ogilvie's. Clean text; 314 pages, evenly tanned. Previous-owner signature on the FFEP; the rear gutter is split but holding. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. First Edition.
