Three volumes, Very Good Plus to Near Fine. Tan calf binding, hatched and ruled. Three raised bands on the spines, all gilt, with black labels. Clean, bright text; 273 pages, 331 pages, and 360 pages. Marbled edges and endpapers. There are two separate bookplates. On the front paste-downsis the armorial plate of Sir Joseph Radcliffe, Bart (1799-1872), the presumed first owner. On the FFEP, that of Charles De Forest. Volumes are rubbed a bit at the margins, predictably at the corners, and there is a small chip at the spine-head of Volume One. It remains an extremely attractive set.
