New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1934. (Sir Basil Henry) Liddell Hart (1895-1970) served and was wounded and gassed during World War One; after, he became a military historian and theorist. His theories had an influence on both the Wermacht and the Israeli Defense Forces. He wrote several biographies, including this one of T.E. Lawrence ("of Arabia"), which is certainly much better than the popular work by Llowel Thomas. This is a Very Good Plus to Near Fine copy of the Second Printing of the First American Edition, which is uncommon. Green ribbed cloth binding, ruled, and blindstamped on the front cover. Lettering and decoration on the spine is gilt. Clean text; 382 pages, indexed; illustrated with maps and photographs. There is a short previous-owner inscription on the reverse of the half-title. The dusjacket is Very Good (Minus). It is price-clipped, and shows wear along the edges, with chipping and creasing; in an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Later Printing.. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/Very Good. Dust jacket present.
