London: Keegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co., 1890. An uncommon title. The Preface indicates an anti-Home Rule stance to "the Irish Question;" in particular, the author relies upon Trench's "Realities of Irish Life," a work written from the point of view of the Landlords of Ireland. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition. Bright red cloth binding with black lettering. Clean text; 451 pages, with a six-page index. Foxing to the endpapers. The spine has taken sun and is now more brown than red, with a bit of fray at the margins. Moderate soiling to the covers and mild bumping to the corners.Previous-owner signature on the FFEP. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. First Edition.
