Originally published in 1913, just after his arctic death, by Smith, Elder; this is a Near Fine copy of th "Cheap Edition" from Murray. Quercus would offer that there is nothing cheap about the production values; beautiful blue decorative cloth binding, with a scene of men trekking along the ice and snow, printed in black and a lighter blue; the title on the spine, with a guardian penguin, is gilt. Clean text; 521 pages, indexed, with two pages of publisher's adverts in the rear. Hints of bumping, and top edge a bit dusty; else a Fine copy. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Later Printing..
