Haliburton (1796-1865) became Canada's first international best-selling author with his comic character Sam Slick, who first appeared in a newspaper in 1835. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of a reprint edition, part of the "Riverside Classics." Purple decorative cloth binding, with gilt titling on both front cover and spine. Clean text; xi, 271 pages, with sixteen pages of publisher's adverts in the rear. Mildly bumped, with rubbing to spine margins. The spine has faded to tan (typical with the purple cloth bindings of this era) but the gilt remains bright and clear.. Reprint Edition. Decorative Cloth. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. Illus. by F.O.C.
