London & Edinburgh: T.N. Foulis, 1911. Birmingham was the pen-name of James Owen Hannay (1865-1950), an Irish cleric (Anglican) and quite a prolific novelist as well. This is a Very Good (Plus) to Near Fine copy of the First Edition (October 1911). Uncommon thus. Tan cloth binding with gilt titling on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 271 pages, with six pages of publisher's adverts in the rear. Top-edge is gilt, others rough-cut. Distinguished by sixteen tipped-in colour watercolours by Henry W. Kerr. Mild rubbing and light bumping, with a slight lean; there is a tiny Dublin bookseller's label on the Rear Paste-down. Previous-owner signature (1912) on the FFEP. A solid and attractive book.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. Illus. by Henry W. Kerr. 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. First Edition.
