In 1831 he had journeyed to the Middle East, and was inspired to write this historical romance (first published in 1833) of a false Jewish Messiah of the Twelfth Century. This is a Very Good (Plus) to Near Fine copy of "A New Edition." A rare title, and edition, in the Disraeli canon.Brown cloth binding, very decoratively stamped, with gilt titling on the spine Clean text; v, 288 pages. Contains his Preface to the 1845 edition. Very lightly bumped/rubbed at margins. There are penciled notes (dated 1928) on the FFEP and Title Page. A very sound and attractive copy.. First Thus. Hard Cover.
