Chicago: Pascal Covici, 1926. This is a collection of 30 short stories; it contains a rather interesting and hopefully ironic essay as a Preface. Ben Hecht (1894-1964) was probably the greatest, and certainly most prolific, screenwriter of the 20th Century; he also wrote novels and plays with a decidedly revolutionary bent. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the Third Printing of the First Edition. Binding is black cloth with gold streaks; dark brown spine with gilt lettering. Clean text; 344 pages. Lacking a dustjacket, rubbed at the edges. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Later Printing.. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/No Jacket.

New York: Julian Messner, 1959. Hecht is best known for his plays; this novel has a murder plot but is really deals with "modern" erotic fantasy. This is a Near Fine copy of the Second Printing. Off-white binding with black lettering and a facsimile signature. The evocative Dust Jacket was designed by Rupert Finegold; due to its black background color it shows its edgewear, with a couple of small chips, but remains quite presentable.
