Boston & New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1887. This is a lovely, Near Fine copy of the First Edition, one of Hart's most famous stories. Brown cloth binding, blindstamped designs on the covers, gilt lettering (Quercus believes this may be a variant binding). Clean text; 299 pages, with 2 pages of publisher's adverts in the rear. Very minor wear and hints of bumping at the corners. There is a small white spot on the rear cover, which appears to be a bit of cloth material rather than a stain. Size: 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. First Edition.
